IF IT'S NOT TOILET PAPER, IT DOESN'T BELONG IN THE TOILET

We would like to remind everyone NOT to flush wipes and other products down the toilet. If it’s not one of the three P's - Pee, Poo, (toilet) Paper – don’t flush it.

Unlike toilet paper which disintegrates immediately in the sewers, these wipes remain intact and clog the sewers, sewer pump stations and treatment plants.

Wipes and other products will clog pipes and create fatbergs – huge clusters of fabric bond with oil or fat in the sewers.

Each time there is a clog, there is potential for raw sewage to overflow. The blockage then has to be manually removed, which is not nice work and is expensive.

We would prefer to spend community funds renewing the sewer system and improving the sewer service, not clearing blockages caused by things in the toilet that don’t belong there.

Doesn’t break down in septic tanks either!
